Furthermore, there is an interpretive centre that will give you bird seed for the chickadees, who will eat it right out of your hand. You can also often spot other wildlife along the river. Because it is a conservation area, dogs are not allowed, and it is not considered accessible for mobility challenged visitors.
11. Cameco Meewasin Skating Rink

The ultimate Canadian experience is skating on an outdoor rink (or ODR, as we call them here). The Meewasin skating rink is nestled in Kiwanis Park, next to the iconic Bessborough Hotel, and it has been named one of Saskatchewan’s top ODRs. There is a convenient warm up shack and fire pits giving you the opportunity to warm up and take a break as needed. Additionally, there are skate rentals available on a donation basis for those who don’t have their own. 12. Western Development Museum

Within the grounds of the Saskatchewan Railway Museum is a story of railway innovation and the dark chapter of Saskatchewan injustice that helped make it a reality. While historic locomotives, railcars, and railway buildings are on display, so is the Eaton Internment Camp. Although the camp only operated for 24 days as Saskatchewan’s lone internment camp, its has been marked as a heritage site. The Stoked Centre is the reason Joshua believes he could have become a NASCAR driver if only given the chance! It is one of Saskatoon’s unique attractions. What started out as Wilson’s Greenhouse has evolved into an eclectic mix of indoor entertainment opportunities. The Wilson brothers started with an indoor go kart track. From there they expanded to include a 200 foot looped zipline (Skyrail) and Skytrail and a two story climbing ropes course. Next they added 10 pin bowling, an arcade, and Stoked Kitchen and Bar with a 3 story LCD screen perfect for watching the big game. So get stoked and come for a full day of action packed adventure. 15. Prairie Jurassic Laser Tag and Arcade

Prairie Jurassic is fun for the whole family. The main attraction is laser tag, where visitors participate in “Capture the Flag” style games with Jurassic themes. In between laser tag games, check out their arcade with a variety of games for all ages. Satisfy your thirst for competition with axe throwing lessons followed by a mini tournament where one person in your group will be crowned the ultimate champion. The Fun Factory is a 3 tiered adventureland for kids with slides, tunnels, and ball pits. It was a family favourite with our kids for years. One of our kids used to have a sugar allergy, so it was our go to Halloween hang out. In addition to the play structure, there is a toddler area, over 50 arcade games, laser tag, and an opportunity to redeem tickets for prizes at the end of the day. Calling all adrenaline junkies! Experience the exhilaration of free falling from either 8000 or 11000 feet. Skydive Saskatoon has an experienced team that focus on creating a safe and fun environment. They offer both tandem and solo jumps as well as a first solo jump course. If skydiving has been sitting on your bucket list, this is a great opportunity to finally cross it off.
21. Sun Dance Balloons

Enjoy the Saskatoon skyline and South Saskatchewan River from above and check off another bucket list adventure while enjoying a hot air balloon ride. On average flights last about an hour, and they occur at sunrise and approximately two hours before sunset. Bring your camera and grab some golden hour, aerial shots over the city.
22. Prairie Lily Riverboat Cruise

Get a different perspective and journey through the Meewasin Valley via the South Saskatchewan River. The Prairie Lily is a one of a kind Saskatoon tour that offers brunch, dinner, and sightseeing cruises sailing at 2 and 4 pm from May through September. They also offer a memorable fireworks cruise that runs on the September long weekend. Note 2025 will be the last season the Prairie Lily sails in Saskatoon. 23. Saskatoon Forestry Farm Park and Zoo

The Forestry Farm is another family favourite for us. This is one of the most budget and family friendly Saskatoon activities. It is divided into two separate sections: the park and the zoo. The zoo portion has a variety of local and exotic animals, gift shop, cafe, playground, and free guided train tour that takes you around the entire zoo.
Meanwhile the park side offers a trout pond, baseball diamond, bbq picnic sites, open green space, gardens, a playground, and historic stone buildings for a relaxing afternoon. 24. Divide N Conquer Paintball

Saskatoon’s Divide N Conquer is the meeting place for extreme adventure junkies and is the only paintball facility within the city limits. They have diverse terrain fields and multiple play areas, making every game a new adventure. Additionally, they have walk on battles every weekend for both groups and individuals. From finding the perfect sniper lair to setting a mastermind ambush, they offer opportunities for beginners and pros alike to test their strategy skills.
25. Optimist Hill

Optimist Hill is the optimum go to place for winter fun. Located right in the city, they offer a tubing area, terrain park, and downhill runs for skiers and snowboarders. The magic carpet will take you to the top of the hill before making your way down. During summer visitors can hike or trail run. There is also open green space that is great for outdoor gatherings. Whether it’s winter or summer there are always opportunities to stay active at the park.
26. Berry Barn

The Berry Barn is another of Saskatoon’s golden nuggets, located just south of the city, on the banks of the South Saskatchewan River. Visitors have the opportunity to pick fresh berries, browse the local products in the gift shop, enjoy a homemade meal, and of course try a slice of their delicious saskatoon berry pie. They also offer plenty of opportunities for the kids to stay entertained with a petting zoo, pony rides, pedal go carts, a playground, and wagon rides around the property. The Berry Barn makes for a family and budget friendly outing for the whole family.
27. Dakota Dunes Golf Links

Dakota Dunes is an elite championship golf course, rated number one in Saskatchewan. It is just south of Saskatoon, nestled into the sand dunes with picture perfect views of the prairie landscape. This 18 hole, par 72 course will challenge golfers with its links style fairways, bunkers, and prairie winds. After the round is over, visitors can relax at the restaurant or try their luck in the casino. Dakota Dunes offers both day outings and a full resort experience with accommodations, dining, and entertainment.
28. Kinsmen Park

Kinsmen Park is the ultimate family and budget friendly playground located across from the river. In addition to a sprawling playground, the park is home to the iconic ferris wheel, carousel, and Canpotex train that journeys around the park. There are also walking trails, open green spaces, a splash pad, and a toddler friendly playground. While the play area is free to use, the ferris wheel, carousel, and train cost $3.25/ride, or a pack of 12 tickets can be purchased for $32.50. There are picnic tables available around the park to set up a home base for the day. Enjoy the sunshine, take a walk, or play the afternoon away. Either way, Kinsmen has plenty to keep the family busy.

29. Remai Art Gallery

Visitors to the Remai will immediately be struck by its clean, modern architecture. The gallery showcases the largest collection of Picasso linocuts in the world, along with changing exhibits of modern and contemporary art from local, national, and international artists. There is also a bistro and gift shop on site that you can enjoy along with views of the river. With admission being by donation this is another ultra budget friendly activity. 30. Persephone Theatre

Persephone Theatre is Saskatoon’s premiere focal point for live theatre and is connected to the Remai Art Gallery in the heart of downtown. The highly talented local and visiting casts deliver exceptional quality shows. Once you’ve been to one, you’ll want to keep coming back. Their season runs September through May with 6 different shows throughout the season.
Additionally, Saskatoon Summer Players brings the stage to life with their summer musical. The Bassment is at the heart of Saskatoon’s live music scene. Operated by the Saskatoon Jazz Society, it is an underground club with live performances by jazz, blues, folk, country, and indie musicians throughout the week, and it is a main venue for the Sasktel Jazz Festival.
Additionally, Piano Fridays happen every Friday with no cover charge from 4:30-7 pm to get your weekend started.
