Custom Trail Planning Guides

Done-for-you trail research and planning- built around your route and experience

I get it. If you’re planning a trek right now,
you probably have dozens of open tabs on your screen.

You’ve likely been combing through Facebook groups, Reddit
forums, and weather forecasts trying to figure out of weather to expect, how to get to the trail, if you need a permit,
whether you should camp or stay in huts, what gear you need and more.

Choose the Research Package That Fits Your Trail

All tiers include the same complete deliverable: a fully completed Backpacking Planner built for your requested trail.
Pricing simply reflects how much trail is being researched — longer routes naturally involve more camps, logistics, and complexity.

Not sure which tier to choose? Use the trail’s standard thru-hike distance — the number listed by official trail sources or guidebooks.

Tier 1 — Short Routes (Under 40 km / 25 mi) — $79

Ideal for shorter point-to-point routes and overnights where the logistics are straightforward, but you still want everything organized in one place.

Examples: Coyote Gulch, Egypt Lake, Rim to Rim

Delivery window: 3-5 business days

Tier 2 — Medium Routes (40–80 km / 25–50 mi) — $119

Best for classic multi-day treks with multiple camps/huts and more moving parts (transport, route splits, contingency planning).

Examples: Skyline Trail, Laugavegur Trail, West Coast Trail.

Delivery window: 5-7 business days

Tier 3 — Long Routes (80–200 km / 50–125 mi) — $169

Designed for longer thru-hikes where planning requires more segmentation, more camps, and more detailed logistics. Same information, just more of it.

Examples: West Highland Way, the O Circuit, Tour de Mont Blanc

Delivery window: 7-10 business days

No matter which package you choose, you’re not just buying research—you’re buying back your time. Instead of spending weeks piecing together information from dozens of sources, you’ll receive one organized planning system built specifically for your trail.

1. You receive a short trail form
After checkout, you’ll get a link to a simple form where you provide the name of your trail, your desired start and end points, (if known), travel dates, ect. You don’t need everything figured out — just the route you want researched.

2. We confirm your trail & tier
We review your trail and make sure it matches the tier you selected. If anything needs adjusting (for example, if a trail sits right on the edge of a tier), we’ll contact you before any work begins.

3. Your Planner Is Built
I organize everything into a personalized Backpacking Planner with route planning, campsites, permits, transportation, water sources, logistics, and planning notes already completed.

4. You receive your personalized PDF
Within the delivery window you’ll receive a downloadable, trail-specific planning guide you can use to confidently build your own itinerary with everything in one place.

Absolutely. Most people who purchase custom trail research have already done some digging.
Instead of replacing your research, I organize it into one complete planning system, verify information across official sources, and fill in the gaps so you don’t have to keep jumping between browser tabs, maps, permit systems, campground websites, and trail reports.
